Concentrated and Dilute acids

Classification of Acids based on the Concentration of acid:

An acid solution may be concentrated or dilute depending upon the amount of the acid present in the solution. Concentrated and dilute solutions of acids are generally used in laboratories.

Concentrated Acids:

When the solution contains a larger amount of the acid, it is said to be concentrated acid. For example: concentrated hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid etc.

Dilute Acids:

An acid which has relatively low concentration of acid dissolved in aqueous solution is called dilute acid. For example, dilute hydrochloric acid, nitric acid.
